Protection of minors in Alanya

New verification system in Turkey.

Alanya is introducing an innovative measure to prevent minors from buying cigarettes and alcohol illegally.

Every point of sale is now required to install a video surveillance system by January 1, 2025.

The aim of this measure is to prevent the formation of bad habits among young people and to increase the effectiveness of controls.

The new rules stipulate that cameras will record not only retail areas, but also entrances/exits and parking lots from different angles.

Installed cameras with facial recognition technology are designed to facilitate the identification of people under 18.

The cameras will be high definition and equipped with night vision technology, ensuring continuous recording 24/7 and clear images even in the dark.

The archive of video recordings will be stored for at least 30 days to enable quick access to materials if necessary.

Businesses that do not install a CCTV system will be fined under the Offenses Act.

The authorities want to tighten controls and will not tolerate non-compliance with new requirements.
