Tahir Göktepe, President of Alanya Chamber of Agriculture, noted that mango cultivation has gained popularity in the region, which has led to a steady increase in production.
At the beginning of the season, Göktepe expressed his best wishes to the producers and urged consumers to support local farmers by choosing mangoes grown in Turkey.
“Mangoes from Alanya have a special taste that distinguishes them from imported ones. We ask buyers to give preference to local mangoes, especially since our fruit is grown in difficult conditions," he stressed.
Mangoes from Alanya are delivered to the market ripe and aromatic, while imported goods are packed unripe for transport and have to ripen on the way to the shelves.
